The Entrepreneurship Minor

The Entrepreneurship Minor provided by the Amsterdam School of Economics is designed to help mobilize students from all fields of UvA to become future innovative entrepreneurs.  The broad target audience is comprised of students who want to learn academically about entrepreneurship, or those interested in its practice.  The focus is on new products, services or business models, rather than developing novel mechanical inventions or applying the discoveries of basic scientific research.  The minor also generally disregards ‘simple retail’ (i.e. the resale of imported goods) and its associated marketing efforts.  While entrepreneurship can be studied as a unique subarea of business theory, and its process can be partly understood from classroom participation alone, we recognize that entrepreneurship itself also requires action, informal learning-by-doing, and experience.
